Negotiations have been opened between the Prime Minister, Mr MacDonald, and the Leader of the Labour Opposition, Mr Arthur Henderson, for the inclusion of Labour in the National , Government. I It is stated that Mr Henderson wel- ; comes the idea, as he considers the first duty of •all the parties at present j Is to support the nation’s welfare. \ Mr Neville Chamberlain, Minister of Health, is consulting the members of the Conservative Party, of which he is chairman, to ascertain their opinions. The Daily Express says It understands that Mr MacDonald Is prepared to go to the country on the full Conservative tariff programme. A meeting of 100 members of the Conservative 1922 Club decided In favour of an immediate election, and pledged Its support to Mr MacDonald, on condition that he advocated a tariff.
