During the discussion at the annual meeting of the Wellington Amateur Rowing Association this week on the proposal to alter the date of the New Zealand championships (now fixed for Hamilton on January 29), Mr A. White (Petone) said the course at Hamilton, being on a river, was hardly fair for the championships. It was decided to oppose the date, but not the venue of the championships.

At the annual meeting of the Thames Theatre Company, Limited, the statement of accounts for the year showed that notwithstanding the general depression the box office receipts of the theatre had been well maintained and could be regarded as satisfactory. After allowing for depreciation the net profit for the year was £714. Out of this £IOO was set aside to provide for income tax, and with Hie balance brought forward, there was £735 available for distribution to shareholders. A dividend of 8 per cent, was declared on the ordinary shares.
