THE Y.M.C.A.

CONFERENCE IN CANADA. DOMINION BEORETARY RETURNS. (By Telegraph.—Prc3s Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. After representing New Zealand at the world Y.M.C.A. conferences In Toronto and Cleveland, Ohio, Mr Keith Falconer returned to Wellington from America by the Makura yesterday. He said there were two conferences at Toronto, one for young men and the other for boy workers, while the conference at Cleveland was concerned with all phases of Y.M.C.A. work and was attended by non delegates, representing 47 nations.

“ One very important matter dealt with at Cleveland related to the moving-picture industry. It was decided that the producing corporations should be approached with an urgent request for better-class and cleaner pictures and that in return Y.M.C.A. magazines and papers would make a point of publishing the names of pictures which passed the Y.M.C.A. selection committees.” Another form of activity discussed, said Mr Falconer, was the necessity for giving all assistance possible to students and travellers by Y.M.C.A. organisations throughout the world.

Oreat'preparations were being made for the international exhibition, to be held in Chicago In 1933, Mr Falconer continued.
