WOOL PROSPECTS.
MR DEVEREAUX’S REVIEW. INDICATIONS NOT 'PROPITIOUS. United Press Assn.—-Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received September, 14, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, September. 13. Mr Devereaux, the Australian woolgrowers’ representative in London reports that the British proposals to deal with the finances are regarded as likely to inspire confidence, not only In Britian but in other countries, also thought there has been insufficient time to observe the effects on the markets. The tendency everywhere in the wool trade is to await the result of the London sales next week, for which the prospects are not propitious. There is very little activity at Bradford. The stringency of foreign credits hinders the replenishment of stocks of tops and several German combing mills are working short time. Stocks of finished goods on the Continent are light. The future market In Antwerp and Roubaix are slightly easier.
