GANDHI IN LONDON.

CLOTHING ECCENTRICITIES. ARE\ THEY SHOWMANSHIP ? United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, Sept. 13. Mr Ghandi’s arrival in London to-day received prominent notice in the press. Responsible organs appeal to him to give practical help at the India Round Table Conference in its supremely difficult task. There are some suggestions that his eccentricities in clothing and his asceticism are mere showmanship. When Mr Gandhi arrived at Marseilles by boat from Bombay he wore a loincloth and self-made shawl in spite of the yirly morning chill. He stated that w r hen in London he proposed to stay in the East End. Mr Ghandl' remarked that he was anxious to travel to Paris third-class, hut there were no third-class carriages on the train.
