Thirty-seven of the remaining inhabitants of Mosehanow ka. a village near the Polish border, who had been reduced from prosperity to poverty under the Soviet regime, decided to flee to Poland with their possessions, which they loaded nn handcarts. Red Guards discovered them crossing the frontier. As the runaways refused to return several were shot dead, but 21 reached Poland.
