Mr Allan Wilkie, actor-manager, left Hamilton to-day for Auckland.
Mr D. Scott, of Auckland, is visiting Hamilton.
Mr A. Thomas returned to Hamilton this morning from a visit to Christchurch.
The Rev. W. W. Cash, organising secretary for the Church Missionary Society, left Wellington by the Hangitata yesterday for England.
A cable message from Montreal states that Lady icsborough, wife of the Governor-General of Canada, gave birth to a son yesterday.
Captain J. A. Duffy, formerly physical director of the Wellington Young Men's Christian Association and instructor at Wellesley College, has been appointed physical director at Scots College, Wellington.
A party of zoologists sent out by Harvard University, America, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Ventura, on their way to Australia. Under the leadership of Dr. W. M. Wheeler .professor of entomology at. the university, they are going to study land fauna In the Commonwealth under the auspices of the museum of comparative zoology at Harvard. Dr. G. M. Alien, professor of mammology, and one of the authorities on the subject, Is also with the party. The other members are Dr. I. M. Dixon and Messrs R. Ellis, P. J. Darlington, and W. Schevlll. They expect to be away about a year.
