PACKAGES FOR RUSSIAN BUTTER. SAME AS FORMERLY USED. WELLINGTON, Friday. A reply has been received from the High Commissioner In London, Sir Thomas Wilford, to the Inquiries regarding the report that recent consignments of butter from Russia were packed in boxes identical with those containing New Zealand produce. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. A. J. Murdoch, has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner: ‘With regard to your Inquiry, the packages used for Russian butter are the same as have been used for many years. There has been no recent alteration. The shape of the boxes is similar to ours, but the marking bears no similarity, has no grade marks and states clearly that the butter Is a Russian product.”
