MILITANT UNEMPLOYED. DISPERSED BY THE POLICE. DEMONSTRATION IN MELBOURNE. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copvrlj.lt. (Received Aug. 13, 10.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, August 13. Baton charges by 30 policemen dispersed a crowd of about 1000 unemployed, who assembled at a Fitzroy house and threatened to cause trouble over the eviction of a family for nonpayment of rent. The unemployed tore pickets from fences, and were about to attack a police sergeant and the bailiff, when police cars with reinforcements arrived, and these dispersed the gathering.
