BADMINTON.
ST. PETER’S CLUB. VISIT TO TE AROHA. HOME PLAYERS SUCCESSFUL. A team of players representing the St. Peter's Badminton Club last night visited Te Aroha, where they met members of the local club. Sixteen games, including singles and doubles, were played, and at the conclusion of the series the score board showed ii successes to the credit of Te Aroha and five to the visitors. Throughout the tournament a high standard of play was maintained, and the gallery of spectators witnessed interesting exhibitions of a game widen has grown remarkably in popularity during the past- few months. At the conclusion of the play the visitors were entertained at supper by the Te Aroha Club. The games resulted as follows, St. Peter’s players being, mentioned first:— _ Singles, Men.—Dr. Gower, 12 v. Gardener, 15; Simmons, 6 v. Pearse, 15. Ladles.—Miss Jackson, 6 v. Miss Pilling, 11; Miss Seav#l, 6 v. Miss Corcoran, 11. Doubles. Men.—Gower and Simmons, 15 v. Gardener and Bliss, 8; Houchen and King, 10 v. Pearse and Caldwell, 15; Norris and A. England 16 v Camp and Cochrane, 18. Ladles. —Misses Jackson and Seavlll, 12 v. Misses Corcoran and Pilling, 15; Misses E. Houchen and G. Houchen, 10 v.
