MR FOW’S SERVICES.
PROPOSED RECOGNITION. A movement has been inaugurated ■by a committee of citizens of Hamilton to suitably recognise the services rendered to the borough by Mr J. R. Fow. 'Few men have served the public over such an extended period as the late Mayor. As chief magistrate he represented the borough with courtesy and dignity, while as head of the council his tact made for smooth running. A large programme of publio works was carried out during his terms of office—works which have done much to raise the town to its present high status, and which entailed a great tax upon the time and energies of the Mayor. It Is felt that the citizens will welcome the opportunity of showing their appreciation of the services of one who has served them so long and faithfully by subscribing liberally to the scheme.
