AUCKLAND, Friday. The report of the Auckland Racing Ulub, to be presented at the annual meeting on August JO, shows a loss for the year of £3003, after writing off £4OBB depreciation on plant and buildings. A feature of the accounts is that while the club’s revenue from the lotalisator dropped from £55,854 to £41,U62, the Government's share in taxation increased from £50,064 to £56,375. The report says that the figures in the statement of accounts may be deemed satisfactory In view of the adverse circumstances ruling throughout the season. The bank overdraft, which now stood at £8067, was slightly less than at the end of the previous period. During the year £53,800 was distributed in prizemoney, in addition to £3lO derived by way of sweepstakes. Owing to the doubtful outlook for next season, it would unfortunately be necessary to reduce prize-money.

Sir Edwin Mitchelson and -Mr 11. O. Nolan are the only nominees for the offices of president and vice-president respectively, and will lie declared duly elected. .Messrs J. M. Carpenter, A. McGregor Grant, M. M. Louisson, and It. W. JJuder retire from the committee, and, with the exception of Mr Duder, they have again been nominated. Messrs T. Impey, W. 11. Lunn, E. 11. B. Milsom, and W. C. Ring, sen., have also been nominated, and there being only five vacancies an election is necessary, The retiring stewards, Messrs M. J. Lynch, W. 0. Ring, sen., and G. A. Wynyard, having been nominated unopposed, will be declared elected. The profit and loss account for the year shows receipts totalling £23,736 (against £40,382 last year),' the principal item being revenue from race meetings £10,123 (against " £35,674). The expenditure, Including. £4OBB written off for depreciation (against £12,070 last year), totals £20,739, leaving an adverse balance of £3003 (against a credit balance of £3839 last year).
