The Upper Hunter by-election re-* suited in a win for Air Malcolm Brown (Independent Country Party)* Air A- AlcAlullen (Nationalist) polled over 11,000 more primary votes than Mr Brown, but the latter secured 90 per cent, of Air Forsythe’s (Labour-* i 1 c), second preferences. The by-election was the result of Ihe death of Air Cameron, a National* ist. The final figures arc:— Brown 5922 AlcAlullen 549 A
