SOUTH CANTERBURY TITLE WON BY* B. WRIGHT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, Thursday. B. V. Wright was the winner of the South Canterbury golf championship Played yesterday. His score for 36 'holes was 143, three strokes under bogey. His score for the 'morning round was 73 and for the afternoon 70. The runner-up was G. L. CuthberU son (Oamaru),' 158. MORRINSVILLE CLUB. Jackson with a net score of 40 over 9 holes. in the first- challenge match for the Avey Badges the holders, Mrs G. Avey and J. Kelly defeated Mr and Airs L« Pettit, s HORNABROOK DEFEATS HORTON, J. IlornabrOok, the well-known colt r successfully defended ids title of Wairarapa champion by defeating the Kirk-Windoyer Cup player, T. 11. Horton, In the final of the championship event at the Masterton Golf Club’s annual tournament. llornahrook outplayed Horton and won 5 and 4 to play, taking 55 strokes to Horton’s 60 for the 14 holes played. Horton’s putting was below its usual form and he took 42 putts on IS greens. v ________
