CANTERBURY PARK CLUB. THE WINTER MEETING. FIRST DAY’S RESULTS.. (By Telegraph.—Pi-nss Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The winter meeting of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club was opened to-day in fine weather, before a large attendance. The course was in good order. The following are the concluding results: — TELEGRAPH HANDICAP. ' Of £200; limit 2.16; 1 mile. 3 SODIUM, limit i 7 ROICOLE, limit 2 1 MAURICE DILLON, limit . 3 Also started.—Kreisler, Holly Bank, limit; Baron Bingen, Rey Logan, Urey Cloud, Nor’westcr, Teremoa, John Jinks, Veeto, 12yds; Tumatakuru, 24; Real Light, 36; Linkman, 60. Won by a neck. Time, 2 9 1-5. FINAL HANDICAP. Of £200; saddle; limit, 2.16; 1 mile. 1 METEOR, 12yds bhd 1 2 WILD VOYAGE, 12yds bhd . . 2 7 STEEL ALL, 36yds bhd 3 Also started: 6 Pearl Logan, 3 Dick Swithin, 9 Bob Logan, 8 Macaranda, limit; 5 Great Triumph, 4 Our Bird, 12yds bhd. Won by a neck; three lengths between second and third. Our Bird was fourth. Times: 2.10 3-5, 2.10 4-3, 2.10 2-5. The Totallsator. The totalisator investments were £22,704 10s, compared with £34,481 on the first day last year, a decrease of £11,776 10s.
HAWKE’S BAY TROTTING. ANNUAL MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Trotting Club was held to-day in cloudy weather, before a fair attendance. The track was in good order. Following are the concluding results : STEWARDS’ HANDICAP. Of £100; trotters; limit 5.2; 2 miles. 1 MOKANNA, 48yds 1 2 CABALLERO, 60yds 2 5 LA CAMPIONE, 12yds 3 Also started: Aerial Boy, Amy Etawah, Iluia Lomond, Wikitoria limit, Hardy Gratton, Pilot, King’s Guard, 12 yds bhd, Hue Coronado 60. Won by a neck, with two lengths between second and third. Time, 2.53 4-5. KARAMU HANDICAP. Of £100; limit, 2.57; 1J miles. 2 VAN NEWTON, 24yds bhd 1 3 JEWEL ELECT, 48yds bhd .... 2 7 RANGIHAU, 36yds bhd 3 Also started: 1 Herod, 6 Lee Nelson, 8 Mr Guy, 4 Poi, limit; 3 Highland Derby (coupled with Jewel Elect), 5 Fliton, 12yds bhd. Won by two lengths, with one and a-half lengths between second and third. The Totallsator. The totalisator handled £6990.
