NEW ZEALAND WINS AGAIN

In the second match against Sydney University, which was played to-day on firm turf, the New Zealand University Rugby team proved its superiority n all departments of the game, and won by 35 points to 21. The visitors led throughout and scored nine tries, four of which were converted, against Sydney’s four tries. The teams were as follows: — New Zealand. —Backs, Bush, Mackay, Ruru, Williams, Carter (Injured, and replaced by Thomas), Ewart, Pryde; forwards, Stephenson-Wright, McCurdy, Hodge, Barker, Perkins, P*eacock, Diederich, King. Sydney University.—Backs, Bohane, Kennedy, Gibson, McMahon, Hemmingway, Simpson, McShane; forwards, Joyce, Page, Morey, Book, Elias, Love, Barry, Murfitt. Except in the scrums, in which Sydney’s three front men secured an even share of the hall, although Morton, their hooker, was absent with the State team in Queensland, all the honours were with the New Zealanders. The visiting forwards excelled in the line-outs, and showed greater opportunism in the loose. Behind tho scrum there was no comparison. Pryde gave his supports splendid service. Carter, until he was replaced owing to a minor injury, was most resourceful. Ruru gave his most skilful display of the tour. New Zealand frequently attacked from Mackay’s wing, where the Sydney defenders were unable to contend with his powerful fend. Bush was cool and reliable, and was again the most impressive fullback seen in Sydney for many years. His sure fielding and long touch-finding kicks, often to the 25 yards line, immensely helped the forwards. Bush scored a try as the result of close following up, taking Gibson unawares. The outstanding Sydney players were Hemmlngway on the wing, who was always alert In spite of poor service, and scored a brilliant final tr> from midfield, brushing the opposition The scorers for New Zealand were Diederich, Carter, Bush, Ewart, Maokay. (three), Thomas and Williams. Bush converted four tries. The members of the New Zealand University Rugby team visited Tattersail’s Club to-day. They were cordially welcomed and shown over tu* premises. __
