Whitcombe, Robson, Holland, 80; Hirigoyen, Manero, 82. (Received June 4, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 3. MacDonald-Smith fell away from his excellent play in the qualifying rounds. He took 39 out owing to numerous visits to the bunkers. Cotton, who is brilliant, is regarded as Britain's chief hope. The first round of the championship proper was played in a boisterous wind.
