The mall train from Rangoon to Mandalay again narrowly escaped disaster at a spot where the rebels had removed the rails and dynamited a bridge. The driver raised the searchlight in front of the train and saw that a pier of the bridge was missing. H? managed to pull up in time, but’'three coaches were overturned. Four persons were injured.
