ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER.
MOTORIST SENT FOR TRIAL. HEAVY BAIL FIXED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ■HAWERA, Wednesday. After a hearing which occupied tha whole of the day, and during whloh l-TJ witnesses were called, Norman Tlnney, married, a resident of Patea, was commltted to the Supreme Court for trial, by J’s P. in the Patea court yesterday on a charge of manslaughter, in that he caused the death of Stuart Carlyle Humphrey, a farm hand, through the negligent driving of a motor-car. Bail was fixed at £2OO0 —self 111 £IOOO and two sureties of £SOO each. Accused pleaded not guilty. The coronial inquiry was held in conjunction with > the hearing, tha police case being that Humphrey died at about 11.30 p.m. on May 16 from shock and lacerations of the brain as the result of a collision between «' Nash car and deceased’s cycle.
