ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
TWO SAILORS INJURED. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. While the Monowai was running before a very heavy sea on her trip from Sydney to Auckland two seamen were thrown against the deckworks, receiving severe Injuries. The men were iMr William Carmichael, single, of Southland, compound fraciture of the leg above (he ankle, and Mr George McDonald, single, of Scotland, Injuries to the spine. A MAORI’S SUICIDE. TAURANGA, Monday. Wanganui Wi Keepa (36), a naiive of Motlll Island, who recently lived at Judea Pa, a married man with four children, was missed yesterday. A search was made and his body was discovered hanging from a tree In a nearby swamp with the feet three Inches' from the ground. He had been dead for about 18 hours when discovered. The coroner’s verdict was that deceased committed suicide by hanging while of unsound mind.
