EXPLOSION AT WAIHI.

QIRL KNOCKED SENSELESS. WAIHI, Saturday. At the home of Mr W. Mooney last night Miss Irene Mooney was knocked senseless and badly scalded about the legs by the explosion of a steel cylinder containing hot water. The cylinder, which was used as a foot warmer, had been placed in the oven of the stove and Miss Mooney was sitting alongside waiting for the contents to heat, when It exploded. Her father, who was some distance away, was thrown to the floor, but escaped the steam, his Injuries being confined to bruises. The range was wrecked. Miss Mooney had regained consciousness to-day, but her condition Is somewhat serious.
