The position of the butter market Is more satisfactory than for some time. There Is a good consumptive demand, especially for Australian and New Zealand. Arrivals are clearing well, with the result that prices have hardened by 3s to 4s per owt. There have also been considerable purchases of Australian and Nqw Zealand for shipment up to July. Production In both Britain and the Continent Is Increasing only slowly, owing to the late spring and Importers are hopeful that the present prices will be maintained for the next few weeks.
