WORLD JAMBOREE, 1920.

ARROWS PARK MONUMENT. A Monument in memory of the World Jamboree In 1929 is to be erected at 'the “Five Ways Meet," in Arrowo Parle, Birkenhead. The 'sculptor is Mr E. Carter Preston, of Liverpool, and which is to be twelve feet high, will show a lifesize figure of a Scout, oarved in Collision greenstone, in an open frame of buff Llngdale sandstone. The inscription at the base of the Scout will be:— “Presented to the Borough of Birkenhead by the Boy Soouts' Association to Commemorate the World Jamboree at Arrowo Park, 1929.” The" base of the Monument itself will bear Hhe following extract from the Chief Scout’s farewell bidding to the Scouts of all the world:—* “The Chief Scout’s farewell biding: To-day I send you out from Arrowe to all the world, bearing rny symbol of peace and fellowship; each one of you my ambassador bearing my message of love and fellowship on the wings of sacrillee and service to the ends of the earth. From now on the Scout symbol of peace is the Golden Arrow. Carry it fast and far so that all men may know the Brotherhood of Men.” Mr W. .). During the last week or so a discussion between the Metropolitan Commissioner and the Hamilton District Commlslsoner resulted in the enlargement of the, Hamilton Scout District. Tho following are the Troops and Scoutmasters ndw in the district;—' To Aroha, Rev. H. B. Hughes; Te . Awamutu, A. F. Brewer; Te Kultl, C. T. Wildsmtth; Taumaranui, A. Braiiagan; Matamata, F. G. Southern; Matamata 2nd (Te Pol),- W. V. Thomas; Morrinsvlllo, Rev. W. y. Thomas; Cambridge, S. Buttermore; Ngaruawahia, H. Williams; Putaruru, C. R. McDermott; Frankton No. 1, 11. Middleton; Frankton No. 2, S. Lewis; CJaudelands, P. W. Grinder; St. Peters, G. I. Clark; Forest Lake, Mr Barnes: Rotorua, vacant. Tftere is a Troop at Waitoa, but owing to their oommitteo not getting in touch with the local executive since the loss of their Scoutmaster, the District Commissioner is not officially aware of its ftiistence. . „
