WAIKATO UNION SELECTORS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —dn your report of the Waikato Union’s meeting held last week <U Hamilton I notice that the union, in their wisdom, reverted to Urn oldI jipe (blame the other seloctor system) of having three selectors. This is a mistake, hut their funeral. Un Mr Chapman’s motion they appointed Mr Hamilton, Hamilton Union selector; Mr Jefferies, Waipa Union selector; and the third man, Mr J. Mclntyre, a brother of the delegate from here, quite ignoring Mr F. Thomas whom tile
looai union appointed as their selector, and in whom they have every confidence. Mr Thomas has represent?'! the Waikato Union and captained the
team on numerous occasions. 0 retired'from the game two years a«,o, but still takes a big interest in it. He was a Player far above the average, with plenty of football brains, and is also a gentleman. Why, then was not the same courtesy extended to him as to the other selectors’? Somehow I am inclined lo think the majority of the delegates did not know who was the Morrinsvlllo Union selector or they would have recorded their votes
otherwise, —I am, etc., FAIBPLAY. iqwiTAHi, May 25, lost.
