Mrs W. Tudhope, of Hamilton, who ha’s been the guest of Mrs Hamilton in Hawera, returned to Hamilton during the week-end.

E., of London, who has been the guest of Mrs Kent Johnston, is an inmate of the Waikato Hospital. " . ''''•■■• *#* , * Miss Billie Sim, a 1 New Zealand girl has gone to Hollywood to try' lifer’ luck in'the studios. 'Miss Sim; who resided in Wanganui a few years ago, was a'contestant-iti one of the “Miss New Zealand”' beauty competitions. ■• t . ENGAGEMENT. The engagement has been announced of Aroh'a, youngest daughter' of Mr Walter : Clifford, Fendalton, Christchurch, and Alf. Brustad, of Hamar, Norway. Miss Aroha Clifford is known throughout' New Zealand as a most, competent aviatrix. She was the first woriian member of the Canterbury Aero Club to become a pilot. She is a fully qualified ground engineer, having.recently taken a course in England, at the de IlaViland works.. Miss' 1 Clifford has done a-considerable amount of flying, throughout New Zealand, having oft more than one ocr casion piloted ..her ,’plane across Cook Strait, to'traverse the' North Island.. Miss Clifford owns her own ’plane, and is the only Woman in New Zealand to have a Puss Moth. Miss Clifford .is also keenly interested in mountaineering, having achieved some of the most difficult' climbs in the Mount Cook regions. Mr Alf. Brustad is well known among alpinists. 1 "
