FALSE PRETENCES.

A PLEA OF GUILTY. WAIHI, Friday. A plea of guilty to having obtained two pairs of boots from a tradesman by false pretences was entered by v Roderick Ryan, a middle-aged man, who was charged In the Waihi Police Court to-day. Accused was fined £2O, in default three months’ imprisonment. On a further charge of breaking and entering the dwelling of Mary Harley and stealing two suitcases and their contents, valued at £3O, accused was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Auckland.
