PATERANGI.

An Accident. When returning from Te Awamutu a motor car driven by Mrs Andrew Whyte, of Paterangi, skidded in some loose sand at the foot of Taylor’s hill and overturned. Mrs Whyte and her son Reece were the only occupants of the vehicle. The latter was holding his bicycle on the running hoard of the car at the time. His left hand was severely crushed. Mrs Whyte suffered only from shock and minor bruises. Mild Influenza. Several cases of mild influenza and a severe type of cold arc reported. Harvest Thanksgiving. A harvest festival service was held in the hall on Sunday, and was well attended. Rev. S. Wareing, Vicar of St John’s Anglican Church, Te Awamutu, preached a very impressive sermon. There was an unusually fine display of fruit and vegetables, which were disposed of afterwards, the proceeds to go to the building fund. Tennis. The Paterangi A team met Ngahinapouri and a very close contest resulted. The sets were even, but Paterangi proved the winners by six games. Church Work. The Presbyterians in the Paterangi charge have purchased a new ear for their minister, to replace the old vehicle which lias been in use for several years. Personal. Mr lien. MarFnrlane. who resided in the district half a cenlry ago. paid a visit to Te Awamutu and Paterangi during Hie week. lie expressed his appreciation of the progress of the district, and considered the countryside fresher than any he. had seen while on Ids travel*.
