GIFT AFTERNOON.
An enjoyable time was spent at the home of Mrs Mervyn Scoles on Monday, when a number -of -her friends tendered her a “preserve afternoon," each presenting her with a bottle of preserves. A novel cookery book, decorated In pink and blue, and containing recipes given by her friends, was presented to Mrs Scoles during the afternoon. Mrs Scoles looked very attractive in an anklelength frock of. nut-brown and lemon georgette. A competition was won by Mrs Haszard. • '
