OUTBREAK AT LEVIN. TAILOR’S SHOP DESTROYED. OTHER -PREMISES DAMAGED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) LEVIN, Thursday. A fire at 12.30 a.m. destroyed a shop owned by Mrs Herrick and occupied by Mr H. E. Monks, - tailor, also his stock. The building was insured for £6OO in the Norwich Union, and the stock and fittings for £3OO in the Sun Office. Slight damage was caused to adjoining premises, occupied by Cameron Bros., mercers; Ham, confectioner; Henderson, cycle agent; Hannah, pie-shop. All were covered by insurance.

BLAZE AT CHRISTCHURCH. SEVERAL PREMISES DAMAGED. CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. A fire at midnight in a two-storeyed business block in Worcester Street considerably damaged a vulcanising plant belonging to Mr H. Gillespie, the printing works of Messrs Willis and Aitken, and the electrical goods store of J. I. Smail, Ltd. The property which was owned by Mr G. T. Moulder, was insured in the Commercial Union Office; Gillespie’s Stock and plant in the Victoria Office, Messrs Smail, Ltd., in the North British Office; Messrs Willis and Aitken in the Commercial Union.
