Rifle Range. At the rifle range next week-end the McCaughran Gup competition will begin. The lies’ competition is eight shots, one of wihch is to he. deolaiecl a sighter. It will be fired at all the ranges —'200 lo 500 yards. At the highest aggregate for the six shoot-s ! laTer the Todd Gup will be fired tor j and this is for the highest score and then the Dunbar G.’ock is to be fired for. These last two are Iluntiy presentations. Farmers’ Union. A meeting was hold in the Waite-rimu-Matahuru Hall, when much correspondence from branches of the union was discussed, j Business in. connection with the | forthcoming show on the insl. was discussed. i Mr Rodda was elected judge of produce; Mrs Rodda judge of the home industries and Mrs Leslie Waugh of the children's section. Among the special pries given were one from Mr Lye, M.P., also Mr Geo. 1 Yercoe and others.
