A graceful compliment was paid Mr. \Y. 11. Alack, former manager of the United Press Association, at the annual meeting of Mic Association at Rotorua to-day. The chairman, Mr. C. Abbey Jones, said he thought it fitting that Mr. Alack-should read the minutes of the last meeting, as he had done for 45 years, and thus bring hh long association to a formal end. The suggestion was cordially endorsed, and Mr Alack acceded, the minutes being read and confirmed. Mr. Atack was later presented wiLli a substantial chequa.
