WAIKATO MARKET REPORT THIS WEEK'S QUOTATIONS. Beef.—There is plenty of prime ox and cow beef offering and no improvement,in prices; in fact at the local sale this week values were again easier, prime ox making equal to 22s 6d per 1001 b. Fat Sheep.—Heavy yardings continue to come forward of both wether and ewe mutton and prices are low, more especially for ewes; fat lamhs are easier, but are making a shade better than export prices.

Store Sheep.—Consignments arrive every week from the East Coast and Ciisborne districts, which are feeling the drought, principally breeding ewes and wethers, and although prices are not high vendors are satisfied. At this w r eek’s yarding aged ewes w-ere easier but competition w j as keen for all classes of young sheep. Store Cattle.—There is at present very little demand for any class, and prices are very low for all young cattle. Weaner heifer calves are now coming on. the market, but there is practically no demand. ' Pigs.—Heavy yardings of fats are coming on the market, and prices have dropped, best baconers making equal to 4d lb. Competition is still keen for stores.

Horses.—The market is quiet. Quotations are: Prime heavy bullocks, £9 to £9 10s; medium, £8 to £8 ss; prime fat cows, £5 10s to £6 10s; medium, £4 to £4 10s; plain and unfinished cow.s, £2 to £2 10s; boner cows, £'l 10s to £2; vealers, £2 to £3; prime fat wethers, shorn, 10s 6d to 11s Gd; prime fat ewes, shorn, 4s 6d to 5s 6d; medium, 3s to 3s 6d; fat lambs, prime, 12s to 13s; four and five year breeding ewes, 7s 6d to 9s; five-year breeding ewes, 6s to 7s; four and six tooth store wethers, shorn, 7s 6d to 8s; 2-tooth do. 6s to 7s 6d; two-tooth ewes, good, 12s Gd to 15s; good store lambs, 5s 6d to 7s; small, 4s to 4s 6d; cull lambs, 2s 6d to 3s 6d; four-year bullocks, £6 15s to £7; three year, £5 to £5 10s; two-year, £3 10s to £4; 18-months steers, good, £2 to £2 10s; store cows, good, £3 to £3 10s; cull cows, £1 10s to £2; weaner heifer calves, £1 5s to £2; choice, 18 months in-calf heifers, £5 5s to £6; best baconers, £2 5s to £2 10s; others, £2 to £2 2s; best porkers, £1 18s to £2; others, £1 12s to £1 15s; good stores, 33s to 3Gs; weaners, 15s to 255; medium draught horses, £25 to £3O; useful farm horses £’2o to £25; hacks, £8 to £l2 10s; unbroken three and four year draughts, £2O to £25; do. farm horses, £l6 to £2O.

MATAMATA STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co'-operative Auctionering Co., Ltd., report:— At Matamata stock sale on Wednesday we had a good yarding of cattle and a heavy yarding of sheep. Store lambs were again eagerly sought after by the dairy farmers, and competition was good throughout. There was aiso a large yarding of breeding ewes, and these changed hands at satisfactory prices. , Prices were slightly easier fo n plain cow. beef and store cattle. A total yarding of 409 pigs came forward, ■ all classes selling at slightly advanced rates. Quotations: Fat wethers, 9s to 12s 9d; prime fat twotooth ewes. 11s: plain fat two'-tooth ewes, 4s 9d to 6s; fat lambs, 7s 6d to 9s; two-tooith breeding ew'es, 11s to 12s; sound-mouth ewes, 4s 3d to 4s 6d; cull ewes, 3s 2d to 3s 8d goodframed mixed-sex lambs, 6s 8d to 8s lid; rape lambs, 4s 5d to 6s 6d; twoshear Southdown rams, 3gns; threeshear Border-Leicester rams, to ign; light fat steers, £7 17s; medium fat cows, £4 'ss to £5 15s; light fat cows, £3 7s Gd to £3 19s; store cows, £1 5s to £2 2s Gd; boner cows, 10s to l £1 2s; potting bulls, 10s to £3 ss; Jersey heifer calves, £1 6s to £1 15s. HAMILTON STORE SHEEP SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctionering Co., Ltd., report:— At the Frank ton store sheep fair on Wednesday we had a good yarding of all classes of sheep. There was a good demand for young ewes, and competition was keen, especially for young sheep from the Gisborne district. Older sheep were not so much sought after, and lambs were slightly easier. Quotations: Woolly store lambs, 5s lOd lo 7s 2d; medium woolly, lambs, 3s lOd to 4s lOd; cull lambs, 2s 2d to 3s Gd; two-tooth wethers, 6s 9d to 7s 3d; two-tooth ewes, 9s to 13s Id; four-tooth ewes, 12s 6d to 14s 9d; six-tooth ewes, 11s 3d to 13s lid; four and five-year-old ewes, 5s 6d to 7s '6d; cull ewes, 3s 6d to 4s.
