KEEPER FINED £SO. IN A FAIRLY BIG WAY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Leonard Smith was lined £SO in the Magistrate’s Court to-day for keeping a common gaming-house. The" police said lie was in a fairly big way.
TWO OTHER FINES. MAN £SO, WOMAN £ls. PAHIATUA, Thursday. Joshua Joseph Swiggs was lined £SO for keeping a common gaming house at his residence for the purpose of bookmaking. Mrs E. M. tfellshaw was fined £ls for using her shop as a gaminghouse.
