repudiation proposals. MR BAVIN MOVES. CENSURE RESOLUTION TABLED.; United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. SYDNEY, Feb. 17. In the New South Wales Legislative Assembly to-day Mr. R. T. Bavin, Leader of the Opposition, gave notice of his intention to move a vote of censure against the Lang Ministry in connection with the repudiation proposals enunciated by the Premier at Canebrra on February 9. The proposals of Mr. Lang at the Premiers’ Conference at Canberra on February 9 created almost a panic in Australian financial circles. They were: 1. That the Governments of Australia decide to pay no further interest to British bondholders until Britain has dealt with the Australian overseas debts in the same manner as she settled her own foreign debt to the United Slates. 2. That in Australia interest on all Government borrowing be reduced to 3 per cent. 3. That immediate steps be taken by the Commonwealth Government to abandon the gold standard of currency and to set up in its place a currency based upon the wealth of Australia, to be termed the gold standard.
