FIXTURE AT AUCKLAND. DECLINED BY WAIKATO. The Waikato Cricket Association, at its meeting on Monday night discussed a letter from the Auckland Cricket Association congratulating Waikato on its success in holding the Hawke uup and inviting the local committee m send the South Auckland representative team to Eden Park 'to meet the Auckland Eleven on Friday and Saturday, Alarch 27 and 28. . Tire opinion was expressed that in view of the amount of leave that the members of the Hawke Cup had already had for representative fixtures, with the probability of further similar requirements later, it would be inadvisable to undertake Iho fixture proposed as it would entail players obtaining an extension of leave. It was also pointed out that Auckland owed Waikato a fixture and it was eventually decided, while thanking Auckland for the invitation, to decline it, and to request Auckland to play a one day match in Hamilton on Saturday, Alarch 28. AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. INVITATION TO WAIKATO. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. At a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Cricket Association last evening the treasurer said that he had prepared a tentative statement of receipts and expenditure for the season, and he expected that a small balance would be shown. He considered this a good position, considering £2OO would be paid out of the association’s account toward the coach fund and Hie expense of the southern representative tour. The chairman stated that an invitation had been forwarded to the Waikato Association suggesting a match against the Auckland representatii e team at Eden Park on Alarch 27 and 28. No reply had yet been received. FINANCING TOUR OF ENGLAND. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The management committee of the Auckland Cricket Association decided last evening to take 250. additional shares in New Zealand Cricket, Ltd., in order to assist further the tour of the New Zealand team to England. This brings the total shares subscribed in Auckland to 377.
