Gower, Conservative Member of the House of Commons, for Gillingham (Rochester) and Miss Dorothy Sprier are working hard for pilot’s and ground engineer’s certificates respectively, inlending shortly to try to beat Miss Amy Johnson’s six-day London-to-Karachi record flight. .Miss Gower admits lhat she has not obtained permission from her father, who hates the idea. ‘1 had to learn to fiv secretly, and I am sick every time I go up, but I wilt become used to it. It gives me an enormous appetite when I come down, and it is the most marvellous thing ever known for complexion.”
