Lady Vane came in for major support and she was sent, out with £4ll on her chances from Golden Sceptre (£374) and I,apt own (£242), Rekaraurau being fifth fancy, at a double figure return, with £7O 10s. Ileremia and Last Lap got the worst of the start, Rekaraurau taking charge from Laptown and Lady Vane. Rekaraurau led into the straight from Laptown. Knight of Australia, Golden Sceptre and Lady Vane. Rekaraurau stayed it out to win by a neck from Laptown. who was half-a-Jength in front of Lady Vane. Golden Sceptre was fourth, with Homelight and Lady Musk in that order. Time, 1.3 1-5.
