Mr G. G. W. Reid, of Sydney, Is at the Hamilton Hotel. Dr. C. A. Taylor, of New Plymouth, and Dr. W. Hutchison, of Petone, are at the- Hamilton Hotel. Mr William Holmes, of Los Angeles (California.!, author and lecturer, is a visitor to Hamilton. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader cf the (Apposition, arrived in Auckland this morning after a visit to Die earthquake area. The Rev. G. Budd, .Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, cancelled his visit to the South Island and has left l'or Napier to assist in relief work. Mr W. J. Aloorc ,business manager for Hie William Holmes lecture tour, is in Hamilton making arrangements for a series of lectures on psychology and mental science. Among (lie judges appointed for the Te Puke Show are:—Milking Shorthorns, Mr A. Fisher, Pukemiro; Jerseys, Mr A. E. Missen, Hamilton; tight horses, Mr A. Storey, Hamilton; pigs, Mr F. Discombe, Hautapu. Messrs Troutbeck (Galatea), R. G. Beach (Wellington), G. W. Skellerup (Christchurch), D. J. Brown, R. Whitson, F. J. Dryland, J. F. Marsley, W. I. Shaw, G. M. Macaulay (Auckland;, H. Taylor (Te Aroha), J. A. Anderson { Opotiki), and H. R. Johnson (Rotorua), are at the Hamilton Hotel. Rev. James Baird, who died at Alasterton this week, had three sons and two daughters, all in the medical profession. Of the sons, Dr. William Baird is at Wanganui. Dr. Henderson Baird at Wyndham, and Dr. Bruce Baird is in England. One ot the .daughters is Dr. Helen Cowie (wife of Dr. Cowie, of Masterton) ; tiie other, Dr. Agnes Baird, died some years ago. A grandson is also a doctor, practising as a specialist in Wellington.
