THEFT OF BICYCLE,

YOUTH’S BAD RECORD. BORSTAL DETENTION ORDERED. A youth of 18, Walter Thomas Martin, was sentenced to two years’ detention in a Borstal Institute, by Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, S.ivL, in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court yesterday, for stealing a bicycle, valued at £2, the property of John Barr, of Rukuhia. Senior-Sergeant Sweeney said accused had been reared by the State, and had been licensed out. He hau absconded, and bad been convicted of theft several times.
