OBITUARY.

MR JOHN ROBERT BROWN. The death has occurred of Mr John Robert Brown, of Kihikihi, who, for many years, was associated with the firm of W. F. Lees and Company. Mr Brown, who was a widower and 68 years of age, was a keen -church worker. He was organist at Christ Church, Kihikihi, for several years. AIR COMMODORE SAMSON. United Press Assn.—Elec. T?I. Copyright. < LONDON, Feb. 5. The death is announced of Air Commodore Charles R. Samson, R.N., C.M.G., D. 5.0., aged 48 years. Air Commodore Samson obtained his pilots certificate in 1911. He flew above the ex-Kaiser’s yacht in the Medway in the same year, and made the first successful flight from a man-of-war in January, 1912. He had an excellent record of service during the war, being mentioned five times in despatches.
