AN*EXCITINQ HOLIDAY. Dear Peter Pan. —I have just arrived home from Auckland where I spent a fortnight. I first crossed the harbour by the ferry boat to Birkenhead where 1 stayed about ten days. My aunt’s house, where I was staying had a lovely porch overlooking the Waltemata Harbour and also’ a 'rocky island called “ The Watchman.” At the back or the house was some pretty bush through where was a winding path leading to the beach which belonged to my uncle. From the verandah one could see beautiful pohutukawas, just one mass of bloom. To domain by the wharf is very pretty with young pohutukawas along one side. Having spent ten happy days at Birkenhead I stayed thetweek-end with two aunts at Mt. Eden. There I saw where my grandparents once lived and also where my mother and rather lived long ago. I was taken to the church where my parents were married and many other Interesting., places. One of my auntie’s took me for a walk up Mt| Eden from which I had a wonderful view. I also went to see some relations and had a wonderful time altogether.
You certainly seem to have had a very jolly holiday Dorothea. . Have you settled down to school work again?—Peter Pan.
A HOLIDAY AT ONEWHERO. Dear Peter Pan. —My sister and I went down to aunty’s place in Onewhero on January 18 and had a very enjoyable time. Uncle went down to grannie’s place and dad took us down, too. When we were going home we saw some heautirul brick houses. On Thursday uncle took us down to the Waikato Heads, where we pitched our two tents. My aunty’s friend and her little boy came with us. Uncle did not stay with us. While we were there we went out fishing with the net, and caught 34 fish In two days. One very wet night uncle came down and brought another girl and her father down. The girl stopped but her father and my uncle went home and arrived him at ono on’clock in the morning. The Heads are 16 miles away from aunty’s place. The Children’s Camp opened on Saturday and we went along. The children looked so very happy, and sang so very nicely. On Sunday we went in church, or course we built many sandcastles In between times. On Thursday we went hack to Onewhero, and on Friday week came right home.—Jessie Steenson, (9), Kaipaki. What a lovely holiday you had Jessie. ■The little people at the camp each year, seem to have a wonderful time. Write again soon.—Peter Pun.
