A FANCY DRESS BALL. Dear Peter Pan.—A short time ago a fancy dress ball was held here by the Anglican I.adles’ Guild. I went as an Indian Rajah, but did not get a prize. We all enjoyed ourselves very much indeed. The prize-winners were Virginia Caldwell, Petite Marquise; Barbara Donn, No More Strikes; Laurie Penney, English Courtier; Tommy and Sandy Jackson, Romulus and Remus, the Roman twins. At ten o’clock wo 'had supper, arter which the grownups took the floor. I stayed right to the end, so, In consequence, did not get home till half past twelve. We were very tired the next day. The other day we went over the root-bridge to the Kopua sands. We had a lovely time there. It Is considerably improved now that the swings, slide and see-saws are there. Unfortunately, a shower came on about -4.30 p.m., so we hastened hSine.' Last Wednesday mother too my cousin and I over to Hamilton for the day. We went Into the Public Library. and saw a number of old photographs of Raglan, taken In 1917. What a different place It was then compared with what ft Is now. We spent quite a while looking at the snap S. —“ Loloma,” Raglan. Hard luck your not winning a prize “ Loloma.” The pictures in the library, , of Raglan, are very good.—Peter Pan. THE BUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC. Dear Peter Pan.—This week I will totl you about our Sunday-school picnic. It was held last Wednesday. The early psirt of the morning was showery. Afterwards It began to clear. I rode my bike there and back. There was a big gathering or children, their parents and friends. I think everyone had a lovely time. There were plenty of amusements such as see saws, swings, cricket, rounders rtices 1 for young and old. I ran In most or the rapes. This time X was not lucky enough to win anything. When the time arrived for lonch we all sat around on seats. I can tell you, Peter, wo all made short work of the sandwiches and various cakes. After hunch we played games and had more races, the little bags or lollies causing great fun amongst the children. One of the men had them sewn to his coat. We all ran arter him to get' the bags or lollies. All too soon It was home time.—Clifford Parker (8), Te Aroha, It was very lucky that the day cleared for the picnic. How do you like being back at school? You must write and tell us of the changes the new school year brings.—Peter Pan. A FEW DAYB IN HAMILTON. Dear Peter Pan.—l have been having a few days holiday at my sister’s place at Hamilton and I had quite a good time with my nephew Murray, and riding my brother-in-law’s bicycle. I have now come back to go to school. I am very pleased with mvself for being in Standard v. this year. We often go down to the river Tor a swim and have a nice rldo over to the other side of the river In our boat, for we swim on the side where It Is shallow and the liver gradually slopes down ltno the middle. I and my friends are not allowed to go out far because the water is too deep and would be over our heads. When we are coming back from the river we sometimes go into the flaxmill to watch the flax go into the stripper and then coming out and put on some logs read yto be taken out. to the field to dry.—“ Running Deer,” Tirohia. It is just as well not to- risk going out too far Into the river, “Running Deer,” Well done on being in Standard V. Write again soon.—Peter Pan.
