HAMILTON RAM FAIR.

CONTINUED AT CLAUD ELANDS. The Hamilton Ram Fair was continued at Claudolands on Friday, when during Die morning rams of the Byelands, Shropshire, Border Leicester, English Leicester, Corriedale and Lincoln breeds were offered, and stud Romneys at 2 p.m. Sales under the hammer during the morning were not numerous, most being effected in Ryelands, about 25 of these being quitted at prices ranging between three guineas and two guineas. in Border Leicesters about j 15 changed owners at auction, the Lop price being four guineas for four stud rams on account of and bred by Mr G. V. Pearce, Waitotara. Others averaged two guineas. Shropshtres, English Leicesters and Corriedales produced little competition in the ring. Some sales of English Leicesters were effected later at four guineas and 3} guineas. After the luncheon adjournment Lincolns were offered, the first sale effected being two at one guinea apiece. The buyer immediately put them on the market again on behalf of the Earthquake Relief Fund, and the pair were sold eight times at 10s 6d each, the last buyer, the auctioneer (Mr McCullagh) being eventually “landed” with them. Another sale was four at two guineas on account of Mr P. Bremer, Tamabere. Flock Romneys next offered produced more competition and bidding livened up. Sales effected ranged from 4| guineas for four bred by Mr F. R. Seridon, Hamilton, to three-quar-ters of a guinea. The bulk sold at prices between four guineas and one guinea. Fifteen two-shear rams on behalf of the Waipa Flax Company were let go at J of a guinea apiece, and another line also went at a similarly low figure. Of the Stud Romneys offered on behalf of Mr F. R. Seddon, those sold made 7gns, sgns (without transfer), ligns and 9gns. To-day’s Sato. There was a good attendance of buyers and breeders at the Claudelands sale ring to-day, when the Anal day of the pedigree ram fair was held. Prices realised were satisfactory, good quality rams making from Jgns lo 4,?gns; medium rams, 2gns to 3gns; and inferior offerings, gns to ligns. Competition was fair, and Ihe animals offered came forward in good condition.
