FISHING IN THE WAIKATO. SOME GOOD CATCHES REPORTED Anglers continue to experience good sport with the trout in the Waikato river and its tributaries, as well as in other streams around the district. A party of Hamilton anglers, Messrs J. Nealiie, J. W. Porter, W. Driver, and 11. 11. Mills, secured fifteen fine trout, ranging from three to five pounds, in the river, just below the sunken forest, at Arapuni, while three Auckland sportsmen, Messrs W. F. Rutledge, chief ranger, M. J. Savage, and Professor Percival, who is en r gaged in research work in connection with fishing, experienced considerable success in the Pokai Whenua stream, near Arapuni. These anglers used the fly, and found theJ.eal and red to be the most successful pattern. Throughout the district good catches are reported, and every day parties are arriving at the favoured streams.
