The Victoria Racing Club’s Spring Meeting was continued to-day at Flemington. In the November Hurdle Race -c\ Plunderer was well placed in the last round and won nicely. His trainer, Quinlan, won , recently with Gragford and Mystic Peak. The New Zealand gelding Hunt the Slipper led all the way in the Byron Moore Stakes and won brilliantly. He shows distinct promise. He was ridden by T. Webster and trained by A. Webster. , , . . Phar Lap had a comfortable win in the Linlithgow Stakes. He has now wmn £45,842 in stakes. This was Pike’s third win in the race> Barbette put up a remarkable performance in the Oaks. • She lost 50yds at the start and then *won narrowly. Barbette was trained by the former New Zealander, Lou Robertson. Her owner, A. P. Wade, won on \Tuesday with 'First Arrow. Barbette’s stable mate, Gay Salute, led all the way in the Veteran Stakes, but was caught in the last stride by El Rey. This gave Duncan, the jockey, his first win at the meeting. Pinnacle was eighth at the home turn, but, finishing fast, won the Carnival Handicap nicely. He was ridden by W. Cook. The question of arranging international test races with Phar Lap in Melbourne and Sydney is being discussed by racing men. 4 Phar Lap’s sectional times In the Linlithgow Stakes were:—First two furlongs, 255; next two, 2445; last four, 47^s. Pike says he considers Phar Lap could have run the mile in lm 35s today if he had been pushed.
