HUSBAND TO PAY.

WIFE’S SLANDEROUS OUTBURST. SEQUEL TO A HONEYMOON. SIR C. EVES TO PAY £BOO DAMAGES * ■■ ' 'T- / United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Nov. 6, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 5. One of the remaining privileges of a husband, if it can be called a privilege, is that he is responsible for the one thing he cannot control, that is, his wife’s tongue, said Mr Justice, Avory in giving judgment for £BOO damages in a case in which Mrs. Flanders, a dog breeder, sued Sir Charles and Lady Eves for slander and assault. It was alleged that Lady Eves struck and abused the plaintiff, complaining of the neglect of three dogs boarded at her kennels during the defendant’s honeymoon. Sir Charles was jointly sued on the ground of a husband’s responsibility for his wife’s acts.
