SCHOOLMASTER’S DEATH.

INQUEST AT HOROTIU. FORMAL VERDICT RETURNED. x (Special to the Times.) NGARUAWAHIA, Thursday. An' inquest $/as held last evening into the circumstances surrounding the death of James Jack, headmaster of the Horotiu School, who died at his home at Horotiu early Wednesday morning.

Deceased’s wife gave evidence that on Tuesday her husband complained that he felt unwell and took dizzy turns. During the night he awoke with more pains and collapsed. Witness thought he had fainted and rang for Dr. Pinfold, of Hamilton. Before •the doctor arrived, however, her husband was dead.

Dr. Pinfold testified that deceased had suffered severely at the time of the i influenza epidemic and also from neuritis and acute Indigestion. The cause of death was angina pectoris due to aortic incompetence.

The coroner, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
