MAORI BOY AND GAY COCKADE, Maori Boy failed to do better than third In the Members’ Memorial Handicap, the leading event on the flat at the Waikato Hunt fixture on Labour Day. Gay Cockade who was the winer, was In receipt of 281 b. from Maori Boy who was six lengths away at the finish of the ten furlongs. This pair will come together In the Vifhangarel Cup to-morrow, but this time the weight difference will be only 181 b. While the prospects look a good deal Improved for Maori Boy, Gay Cockade won so well at Cambridge that he promises to again be hard to dispose of, as he is on the Improve.
