MOTOR RAIDS ON 52 TOWNS. (From a Correspondent.) LONDON, Oct. 4. A woman’s motor tour from Liverpool to Devonshire,- in the course of which she visited 72 towns and stole from shops goods valued at nearly £6OO, 'was revealed at Bournemouth. Celia Bamford, aged 35, wife of an advertising manager, of Abingdon Road, Kensington, W., pleaded guilty to stealing dresses valued at £26 ait Bournemouth. She admitted 52 similar charges in various parts of the country during the last 12 months. Some of the stolen things were found in her car. Her husband said she was neurasthenic and had twice, attempted to commit suicide, He thought she was touring the country in the 1 course of her employment. She was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment in the second division.
