The following Ministers have been elected to the New South Wales Cabinet by the Labour caucus and their respective portfolios have been allotted by Mr-J. T. Lang:— Premier and Treasurer. —Mr J. T. Lang. Mines, Labour and Industry.—Mr J. M. Baddeley. 'Work and Railways.—Mr M. A. Davidson. Education. —Mr W. Davies. Agriculture and Forests. —Mr W. Dunn. 'Assistant Labour and Industry.—-Mr W. T. Ely. Chief Secretary.—Mr M. Gosling. Health. —Mr J. McGirr. Lands. —Mr J. M. Tully. Justice. —Mr J. Lamaro. Local Government. —Mr W. J. McKell. Attorney-General.—Mr A. A. Lysaght. Vice-president Executive Council.— Mr A. C. Willis. •' Hon. Minister in Legislative Council.—Mr J. Copcandon. Mr F. Burke has been appointed speaker in the Legislative Assembly and Mr H. J. Connell, Chairman of Committees.. The counting of the preference votes in connection with the New South Wales general election was completed to-day and as a result Labour has a clear majority of 20 over the other parties in the Legislative Assembly. The state of parties compared with the figures after the 1927 election, is as follows:

A remarkable feature in the caucus meeting was the defeat of Mr Lysaght in the ballots for the selection of a Ministry. Mr Lang, at the close of the ballots, obtained permission to' nominate the fourteenth Cabinet Minister. Having obtained this, he nominated Mr Lysaght for the portfolio of AttorneyGeneral.
